Valtteri Bottas And Zhou Guanyu Lead Everdome’s Metaverse VR Experience Debut

Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN drivers Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu kicked off our Abu Dhabi GP event, where the world got its first glimpse of the Everdome metaverse experience live from the Yas Marina Circuit.

We couldn't think of better people to lead this first public activation of Everdome’s metaverse adventure than our partners at Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN.
 

Both team drivers visited our interactive space yesterday evening, taking the small steps for mankind into a metaverse future. They donned the Everdome headsets and took up the VR controllers to explore the very first stage of our interplanetary adventure.

Reacting after the end of his metaverse tour, Zhou stated that:

‘’I really enjoyed it. I don't use too much VR, so for me it's something quite fresh… Going over and on top of the earth was a unique and new experience for me.’’

Following his simultaneous VR metaverse experience, Valtteri remarked:

It was really cool to see the graphics and feel that atmosphere… and it was also pretty cool that you can have this experience together with other people, I could see Zhou ahead of me, which was interesting. The technology is improving massively, and you definitely feel like are you in another world.’’

Asked on the potential metaverse future relating to F1 or simulated racing, Zhou stated that:

‘’The simulations are getting so close to reality, so you start get a similar overall picture of the racing experience when it comes to VR experiences.’’
 

Valtteri added that:

Simulator work that happens in the F1 factory is already happening, we still don't use VR but the simulation side of it is already happening.

This debut was just the start of an action packed weekend for Everdome at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with more updates to come as we demonstrate the power of our metaverse experience live to the world.
